Professor Osafo is an Associate Professor in Health Psychology, and Head of the Department of Psychology. His areas of specialization are suicidal behaviours, religion and Mental health, child and maternal health, caregiving and mental health, adolescent mental health and sexual behaviours. His current research focuses on exposure of pregnant women to adversities, collaboration between mental health professionals and faith healers, and contextual exploration of African personhood from a psychological perspective. Professor Osafo is the Executive Chair of the Centre for Suicide and Violence Research, an NGO that specializes in suicidal behaviour
